Default KSport brakes - are they any good for everyday use??

Are the Ksport 8pots (and 6pots) any good?

I nearly went with the group buy but didnt in the end as i wanted some info on how the brakes actually perform.

So, what experiences have people had?

Thanks, that of use to me (and thats not meant sarcastically).

I maybe should have stated that i meant for everyday use. My car will never see a track while i own it. I purely require info on how they perform during everyday/normal use, occasional heavy braking if someone pulls out in front of you etc etc......

I think them being 1 second off the Autosportif times from their on board timing without any aero on the car and lots of other work to be done says that they work pretty well

Lots of others have them on too - bren at Apex will tell you all about them - he is a straightforward honest chap so wont give you any bs.

Yeah it was Bren that told me about them in the first place. Seem too good to be true, thats why I was asking. Cheers, think i'll go for them to be honest.

I thought Zen were on stoptechs? Or was that a while ago?

I also thought they were too good to be true (get what you pay for etc).

They work well from what I have been told, although havent used them myself, but they are a great deal of brakes for the money.

Bren and the gang at Apex know what they are talking about and also were running these on both Apex cars yesterday without issues.

Do you really need to pay any more than this? if it is a road car then AP's are a waste of money IMO.

IMO 8 pots are bit overkill for solely day to day use surely you would be better off with OE 4 pots and a decent disc/pad upgrade. I bought mine for road use and track days..

Mine are bedded in and tested on the Ring only 3 weeks ago. They are awesome honestly, anyone that has done the ring will know how quick the corners are on you, smooth braking all the way round NO fade and excellant stopping power. If any Track is there to test a cars brakes the Ring must be in first place!
A bit Dusty with the street pads but i opted for them as i use her everyday. Work well when cold too!

I find Cadwell harder on brakes than the ring - once you get used to the track there less braking is needed and only hard braking is separated by long sections.

Ask yourself why your changing them, most do because its fashionable to have as many pots as possible. lol

Imho you wont go wrong with std OE fitment brembo's or a set of AP racing 4/6 pots if you want light weight.

thats a pretty broad statement, with a huge difference between brakes.

I used to have the standard Brembos on the car and had problems with them cooking with spirited driving, they are heavy items and can suffer from heatsoak.

AP are the only lightweight brakes? have you weighed some K Sport? would say there is not alot in it and you pay for the name with AP, yes they have a good reputation, but it is still a name.

Brembos are spot on for my TA car with decent pads and discs (and some ducting )

I thought Zen used StopTech too myself. lol.
But hey ho, i know nothing!
I thought about changing to the K-Sport from my StopTech's but bottled it when it came to actually buying them.

Have you compared a set of AP's to K sport price wise? I want them because I regularly have my 2 pots(with so called fast road discs/pads) at the point where they do not work at all due to heat. Dont think there would be a huge difference going to 4 pots tbh.

Some people ive spoken to have said go for the APs as you know what you're getting, good make etc, but i just wonder if you pay for the name.

Are KSports cheaper because they are not as good or just not as widely known yet?

I would also like something a bit different.

The K sports are cheaper as they are made in China , the running costs of producing items there are far far lower than anywhere else in the world , workers probably earn less in a year as most here do in a month , which is why there is a big difference in cost.
