Default Proper RE070 alternative ???

By all accounts an excellent tyre:

Only problem........they are TIRES.......from USA and don't think they are available in the UK.

I have asked the question though

Oh yeah.....they are Falken Azenis RT-615

Marty they do look a bonny tyre and very similar to the 070's I was speaking to Litcho the other month and the Honda's he is bringing in from Japan are all shod with the 070's like wise the Impreza's, he was talking about maybe importing a container of 070's due to the demand I for one would snap his hand off for a set,a lot of people dont rate them but I do.Do you have a review link to the Falkens ?.

Be interesting if he does that, as I want to move to 18" wheels but have been told getting the 070's for them is very difficult and I think they are a great tyre... or is this just for JDM spec?

.......for one........there's lots of referenc to them in the NASIOC like that. They seem to be a poular and well thought of "tire".

Keep an eye out for the Federal 595RS-R (not the 'cooking' RS) too. The japanese drifters are using it already.

Is that good? Doesn't their "sport" mean they want to slide? When I'm choosing tyres that's just what I'd prefer not to do.

The thing with the RE070's is the more heat you get into them, the stickier they get, the last thing you want is a tyre that you can drift with, that means the more heat you put in, the worse they get, not really a good combo imho

Not entirely true, otherwise the drifters would be on the nastiest remoulds

Its on limit adjustablity and feedback that is key - the drifters want high grip but progressivenes once slip is achieved

I shall just mention Yokohama's a good tyre, trouble is the more heat the worse they get, tis a little unfortunate, but probably good for drifting
