Default need new disks and pads

Its an my 99 uk turbo and ive currently got godspeed disks and tarox pads. It was left standing for a while last year which has caused the pistons to seize which has eventually warped the disks and killed the pads. I need new disks and pads and i will be cleaning the pistons so all is good again but not sure what to buy. Any reccomendations for general use (no trackdays)?
Never really got the feel of this setup with the calipers sticking so not really sure if it was good or not.

Thumbs up

My 98 classic has Godspeed Brembo calipers and Godspeed 330mm discs at the front, with Kevlar pads, also from Godspeed.

It also has STi Brembo calipers at the rear, with 316mm STi discs and Mintex pads, all fitted using the Godspeed kit.

As you can infer, I recommend Godspeed although I have no connection with them other than as a satisfied customer.

I also have a MY99 and have just fitted Black Diamond cross drilled and grooved combi disc's and Black Diamond predator pads. This set up is really good and looks fantastic as well. The total cost after shopping around was approx £225 and they only took an hour to fit. I think the cost was spot on and worth every penny. Makes the wheels a little dirty tho!

Personally, if it is just for road use and you are not to hard on the brakes, standard pattern parts are absolutley fine.

Try these:
SUBARU IMPREZA WRX TURBO NEW FRONT 2 BRAKE DISCS 295MM on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 09-Dec-07 22:06:22 GMT)

I got mine with pads from Graham Goode. But they don't appear to have any more on ebay at the moment.

Impreza Turbo 98- Front Brake Pads & Discs 4POT GGS387P on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 03-Dec-07 13:47:23 GMT)

If your not driving hard most of the time or doing track days we offer a kevlar spec pad that works well , and works from cold and doesn't squeel at all , ever.
I can supply you new grooved discs and kevlar pads for £160 delivered , or with Mintex M1144 pads for £200 delivered or with Ferodo DS2500's for £210 delivered.
If you need any parts for your calipers , I supply they seal kits at £22.50 per caliper , and stainless steel pistons for £12.50 each or £80 for a set of 8.

Hope this helps

Cheers Ian

I find that for ROAD use, grooved discs are noisey, have no advantage over standard discs and they eat the pads too quickly.
Just my opinion.

ok cheers. Help me out now please its either £160 for godspeed disks with kevlar pads or £59.99 for standard spec from graham goode. I like the gg price ive got to admit but am i going to regret not paying the extra (coming up to xmas a £100 saving is a bonus).
Like i said theres no track use but i do like driving and there are a lot of good country roads round me if you know what i mean. what sort are the kevlar pads by the way?

i find my standard brakes fade badly after only a little bit of 'enthusiastic' driving. i've gone for the Godspeed oversize fronts with ferrodo pads, and grooved rears with kevlar pads. Had the rears delivered already, but the fronts are hopefully coming tommorow after a short delay. I'm looking forward to the results....
