Default Fitting new Pads and Discs

Hiya

Got some new pads and discs I want to fit to my Bugeye WRX, just wondered how difficult a job this would be or is this something best left to professionals?

Any tips or guides would be much appreciated

Many Thanks

Chris

I cant see why it would be difficult. I just had front pads fitted to mine by a couple of RAF Fitters who had never worked on a WRX before. I doubt the discs would be any harder really.

I posted a guide to removing and refitting brake pads a few weeks ago, I think it's several pages on from here. When I did mine(Black Diamond Cross drilled and Grooved + Black Diamond pads) on my classic it was really straight forward. After removing the pads etc (RE-Previous thread) located behind the caliper is a large nut that connects the caliper to the strut etc. Undo this, it will probably need a fair amount of force. Remove caliper and let it hang free. The wheel studs will stick out of the disc, there are two other holes in this area. Put a bolt into one of these and it will push the disc away from the hub. Just pull the disc off and put the new one back on and refit the caliper and put in the new pads. I think the bolts you require are M10's or M8's just buy a couple of each they are only cheap. It really is straight forward, good luck

Don't forget to pump the brakes when finished until they firm up, and take it easy for 100 or so miles!!
