Hiya Matt

have you tried www.motorsportworld.co.uk

I've just been back to Tyres Northampton today to get my brakes redone and this time they've fitted Turbogroove discs and redstuff pads - have you used them before? Seem to recall they'll need a bit more heat through them than greenstuff to get working nicely........

Cheers mate,
neil

Cheers mate i've requested a quote. Yeah I know the Redstuff need a little more heat but I very rarely do any motorway driving & with all the country roads & roundabouts the pads I had put on by Subaru in May are almost shot They cost me about £100

My guess is that I have a very heavy brake foot & like to brake late . With the reds I shouldn't have a problem getting heat into them & maybe they'll last a bit longer

I have 325mm disks and Brembo calipers with EBC Greens and got fade at extreme conditions so have decided to try Reds. Only done 200 miles but they give a very wooden feel and much less bite, whereas the greens gave excellent feel and progression. I hope they improve with a few more miles. The Greens, however, gave off a load of dust and seemed to be a metallic-type compound (contrary to EBC's claims)! I had a build up of rust on the wheels that was hard to shift so I won't go back to Greens if the Reds are no good. I was hoping to get away with using a 'soft' pads as the heat dissipation should be much better than standard.

Cheers m8 but i've still only had one person give me directions to a possible cheap purchase. That is unless anyone recommends another pad?

Seriously I think you should save up and purchase some better brakes as I think you are wasting you cash!!! If you need new pads get the cheapest ones avaliable and continue saving towards BETTER brakes. You will not be disappionted.

I've had reds fitted for the last 3000 miles. Not very impressed with them, crap on the motorway, very little feel or initial bite from them and the front wheels are covered in bits of fine black particles that are embedded into the alloy. Wont bother with them again, even though they don't dust as badly as originals

Wasn't overly impressed with them on track either.

These are fitted to a MY00 BTW.
