Question 294mm discs - which ones?

Are TSL Motorsport's Gp.N 294mm perlitic iron discs (for the 4-pots) worth parting over £200 for? Are they that much better than any other disc out there of the same diameter e.g. do they offer a greater coefficient of friction; dissipate heat better; not warp; deglaze pads better, etc...?

Any experienced advice will be greatly received...

They are all much of a muchness, try a cheapish grooved set from Welcome To Godspeed Motorsport
And get some decent pads instead from AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists

For £200 I can supply you grooved front 294mm discs with a 12 month gaurantee against warping and a set of Mintex M1144/1155 or Ferodo DS2500 pads , £10 extra for P&P

Cheers Ian

Question

Hi Ian

How much for a pair of those 6-grooved discs (as in your picture) only? Are they Mintex or another brand?

Thanks

John

Thanks.

Are they exactly like those pictured i.e. 6 curved grooves either side that stop short of the discs' outer edges? Or will they differ in any way? - please advise...

[Would I need to fit the discs so that the grooves' outer edges face forwards (to gain airflow into them, with the rotation of the wheels?!]

Hi Ian.

Received the discs and they look fab - can't wait to get them (and the 4-pots) fitted at Zen on the 30th...

One thing... I'm intrigued to know why it makes a difference for the grooves (on these discs at least) to face 'backwards' with repsect to the forward motion of the vehicle? Can you explain the reason?...

Thanks again for a quick, efficient service.

John.

The only difference the grooves make facing different ways , is expelling the dust , the way I have marked them , the grooves flow out to the outer edge , any dust will folllow the groove , if you had them the other way , the dust is dragged in towards the centre of the discs

Ah yes! The forward motion 'throwing' the dust forwards to the outside and away. I understand, thanks.

Im thinking of going for these, grooved discs and ds2500's, any one got any experience or opion on them?

Others discs i was looking at where ebc or dba but both quite a bit more, are they worth the extra money or not?
