Porsche Brakes on Type-R
Hello Lads,
I am wondering what type of Porsche brake calipers will fit a type-R. I have seen couple of sets (brembo marked as porsche) for sale in the US and was wondering if they will fit. I know Litchfield fit Porsche calipers on the type-25, and the type-r has the same hubs as the 2002-2005 sti.
Let me know what you think
Cheers,
Michael

I think that if you get them I will hate you for life! Seriously though, I absolutely love the look of the 'Porsche' calipers on the impreza and reckon that the package gives some serious stopping power. Hopefully you will get the answer you want and save some money! I would love a set but at £2k new for the front package I just want to cry .

While the Porsche brakes look nice and probably perform well,
I just couldn't put Brakes on a Scoob with another make of car engraved on them.
Something like an MR2 with Ferrari badges on springs to mind.
But if you like em then go for em as they do look nice.

Hello Lads,
The name can be easliy painted over
Please find below a link I seen on ebay, I just thought they might be a less expensive mod than buying standard subaru brembos
eBay Motors: Porsche 911 964 Brembo front brake calipers OEM (item 280136824221 end time Jul-30-07 07:24:53 PDT)
Let me know what ye think
Thanks,

Chances are you will need some sort of bracket to make them fit.
The Porsche kits that are for impreza's will surely come with the bracket in the rest of the kit like other big brake kits normally do, like the AP kit for example.
What the chances are of being able to buy just the bracket to get the callipers to fit is anybodies guess.(provided the 964 kit will actually fit)

I had a movit kit on my 94 WRX Wagon. It comprised of GT3 calipers and pads, plus 911 Turbo discs, plus mounting brackets, and also 15mm spacers. The calipers had a movit label on them, but they were just rebranded porsche spec calipers. The discs themselves came in porsche logoed boxes.
They would fit, with the spacers, under MY01 WRX 17" wheels.
The key things here would be the mounting bracket and if the calipers will clear the wheels you are running with/without spacers. I ran the car with spacers for at least a year and didn't have any problems, even though quite a few people had suggested I was less than sane running spacers.

Hi Mate
I have a set of brembo/Porsche brakes to fit a scooby - I bought them off here a couple of years back. I was going to replace my 4 pots with them (they use std disc's) but went for AP's.
I kept them to fit to the back - but never bothered - they have brackets (bit rough but strong) and pads and were made by a bloke at RallyArt
Let me know if you are interested on iain.harrison@ntlworld.com
Cheers
