Default Brake fluid capacity

I'll soon be doing a brake fluid change on my 03 STi (Brembo) so need an idea of the fluid capacity of the system to ensure a complete change takes place.
I would have thought a couple of litres should be adequate, but does anyone know the actual figure?

I would get 1.5ltrs to be safe.

It holds around 500ml iirc

Don't drain the old stuff though or you will get lots of air in the lines.

Not brave enough to do that! Too much risk of trapped air somewhere? I'll be using a pressure system to bleed. Wouldn't even need to raise the car if the front calipers didn't have nipples on the inside!
Looks like a couple of litres will flush the system nicely.
Cheers guys

yea you will get air in them, but when you pour the new fluid in it gets bleed out.

I bought 2 x 1 litres, didnt need to open the 2nd bottle.

Generally I just bleed through half a litre per wheel, that will be more enough to flush out the old fluid, certainly don't bother draining the system.

Genuine question time
If the system is not bled dry before replacing the fluid why would you need to do a front then rear then other front then other rear as surely you have pressure in the lines from the existing fluid?

Yes, I needed the sequence confirmed. Also - does it really matter whether it's inner or outer nipple first?

PS Can I assume your surname is Dodd, like mine?

Strangely, there's always been a prefered sequence even before the days of split systems.
As there is no real fluid "loss" from the system and it's under pressure, your question is quite valid? Has anyone the definitive answer?

I did mine with inner nipple first, then outer.

Different seq though (started furthest away from brake cyl).

When flushing completely through I do the shortest run 1st OSF, bleed until the resevoir is nearly empty top up with new fluid. Then keep bleeding until the new fluid comes through.

Then I do the same routine as Bob, longest run in order, so NSR, OSR, NSF, then I do OSF again.

If you're good you can do it with 1 litre, but I'd buy 2 to make sure.
