Question

Happy Holidays to all !

As I will keep my OEM ones for winter tyres, I'm searching since a long time other beautiful wheels to fit on my STI VII. Size in 7,5 or 8 x 17 only.

As the Brembo brakes seems to use a lot of place, do you have any experience with the new STI ?

Links will be appreciate. Thanks.

Can't help about the wheels issue but can I ask you about your car?

Is it an import? Is it easy to personally import a foreign car into Switzerland? I have half an idea that I'd like to import an older 911 from Germany but I am not sure if this is an easy thing to do here Switzerland.

I am also tempted by the European STI VII's as they are cheap! (< SFr 50k = £21k) but I have not seen any of them in the country yet.

My STI will come in January. It's an official one.
The first cars will be on the road in the next few days... if they will not be in late !!!!

More than 400 orders for the STI already in Switzerland. Very keenly priced. Wouldn't swap my EVO Mak for one though.

Enjoy your new car

Hello fellow Swiss Scooby owners!

Thought I would reply on this thread as 'Scooby50WRX', you do not have an e-mail address on your profile!

My UK registered MY00 Turbo is back in Scotland at the moment and is in the porcess of being sold. I am going to buy something new out here by the end of the month (a slight problem with a radar last summer!).

I just wanted to ask you what you know about pricing secondhand cars in Switzerland and negotiating!

I have found that used cars often look overpriced in showrooms over here in Suisse Romande (Neuchatel) and yesterday I discovered the ch.eurotax.com website which appears to be run by the same people who run Glass's Guide - the 'official' trade guide to used car pricing in the UK.

The Swiss site allows you to input the details of a used car and for SFr9, it will give you a valuation.

I tried this on a 4yr old Ford Ka3 that my girfriend is looking at right now. The Ford dealer advertised price is SFr10,800 but the ch.eurotax.com site says it should be more like SRf6,300 if you are selling and SFr8,000 if you are buying.

Sounds like good starting point for haggling!

Do you know of any other (possibly free) valuation services?

I see that TCS do one too but this looks expensive at SFr4 per minute over the phone or up to SFr25 by fax (for non-members)

Have a nice day!
Stephen

Stephen

check out www.autoscout24.ch. Most frequently visited used car page in Switzerland. I sold my Scoob via this page.

Cheers

I have a STi 7 and am changing the wheels to the Ruota speedline GTS.The car really need 18" rims.Besides, the OEM STi rims are only gold coloured on the outside.(Behind the spokes and on inside of rims it is steel coloured.

Hope this helps.

Thanks RPG7, strangely, I don't find any information about the wheel you are using. Do you have any link where I can have all informations ?

I don't plan to change for 18 rims because the STI is my all days car and thera are too many risks of rims damages and the tyres cost is also to consider for big mileage.
