Post classic 4 pot removal

Hi all,
I have the godspeed 335 conversion, and need to put my new disc's on, thought easy job for the weekend, but the old disc would come off without removing the caliper, theres no way the new one will go back on.

So need to remove the caliper which is now held on with the socket head bolts (12mm af) but found I need to remove the bottom (of 2) big bolts that clamp the strut in place.

Question is is it a nut and bolt or is the nut side "welded" in place.

Cheers

Did you try pushing the pistons back into their bores? A good set of waterpump, (slip-jointed), pliers and a small thin piece of wood or some rag to protect the piston, helps.

Leave top off brake master cylinder, and place rag around it to catch any spills if the level rises a lot.

Alcazar,

Pistons all the way back, I think its the fact that the old disc's came off as their 1/1.5mm thinner (worn) than the new 32mm thickness so they just catch on the corners on the inside of the calipers when trying to feed them in at an angle, But one bit of luck I just found my extended 12mm allen set to go on my 1/2" drive, so may be able to undo the cap heads without removing the bottom strut bolt.
