Hankook track day tyres
Has anyone tried HANKOOK RS 2 - 225/40R18 92Y XL on a trackday or on the road on a new age scooby?
They are marketed along side Toyo R888's and Yokohama A048's, but are considerably cheaper - I'm after any feed back on wet and dry performance both on the road and track - thanks

I'm curious about this as well. When I've worn out my current R888 track tyres I may try a set. At a guess they have more tread blocks and may not last as well on an abrasive (Elvington) surface. As for grip even if they aren't as good as R888 I'm sure they would be enjoyable on track. Don't think I'd consider them for an everyday tyre.

D1CCY - Just wondered why you thought the RS2's might not be OK for the road? I've used two sets of original fit RE070's on the road, although they have track tyre stiffness, a lack of tread and great dry grip levels they are an acceptable road tyre. (They don't like the damp or heavy rain though) I thought the Hankook RS2's might provide a good around option for track and road use, judging from the tread pattern they should be OK in the rain.
P1doc - Have you tried them or heard some reports? They might be cheaper than R888's etc, but don't grade them on cost alone without trying them. I would use a T1R against a Pirelli any day, but the T1R is the cheaper option.

Sadam,
Sorry just plain and simple prejudice, I presume they are soft rubber so would have a limited life. Happy with my F1s for road use but the one bash on track I've had with these left the tread looking like the edge of a saw. I don't propose to use my R888s on public roads either apart for to and from (if there's any tread left) track. I've got 3 sets of rims so can play around with tyres.
