Default Michelin Pilot Sports?

Just rung up with a view to getting four, since ATS are doing a 25% discount at the moment, and been told that they are replaced by "Michelin Exalto" tyres, at least, in 215/40 17", they are.

Anyone know owt about them?

TIA, Alcazar

What, no-one?

I had a look on the Michelin UK website, and "Exalto" turns out to be a "Pilot Exalto", which is for "sporty cars" rather than the original PS which is for "high peformance cars".

Are Scoobs down graded then?

I saw this ad as well and I'm pretty sure it said 'certain tyres only' to which the offer applies. It may be the offer doesn't apply to PS's and that's why they are suggesting Exalto's??

The pilot sports have been out for quite a while now.
I think they are being replace by the pilot sport 2 (ps2) and others like the exalto and exalto 2, different patterns in diferent sizes.
Im not sure michelin are still making the older sport although somewhere might still have them.
Where i work we have not sold a sport for a long time but sold a lot of sport 2 and exalto's.
Dont think its an offer issue, just they cant get hold of that pattern in your size.

I think you'd be better to go for the newer pattern if wanting 4 then if you need just 1 or 2 in the future they will be easier to get.

I have Pilot Exaltos on my bugeye WRX and I am very pleased with them. Better than the Continental SportContact2 that were on before. When I got them the tyre place said they did not make Pilot Sports in 215/45/17 and this seems to be the case on the Michelin website.

Yes, that's what they told me, no PS or PS2 in 215/40 17", and the website confirms it.

Toyos again, methinks.
