Default Eagle F1's - GSD3 F1 or GSD3 XL ?

Does anyone know what the better option is between GSD3 F1 & the GSD3 XL ?
I have read that the XL (extra load) is the better option but just a bit confused with the various options available.

Thanks Andy

XL has a load rating of 91 as oposed to I think 82. You'll need this on Newage cars. Without it some owners experienced split sidewalls. Bob

Yup, a lot of people do not pay attention to the load rating of a tyre and just put any old rubbish on. You will need the XL tyres.

Default Still a bit confusing as I have 215/40/17 (classic STI 5)

I agree that the XL would be better but looks like Goodyear GSD3's are not available in the XL for 215/40/17's.

If others have put on GSD3's on a classic running 215/40/17 did you put on the 83 rating ?

Cheers Andy.

Thats funny, I was going to ask the same question, I am going to order some new tyres later.

What is BSW and VSB all about?

I would not recommend getting the F1's in that size. I have a classic, and ran those tyres for a few months. I ended up with big splits in the sidewalls of three of them!! Very dangerous!

Been a bit put off by commensts on other boards about the F1's so have the Yokohama Parada 2's on the top of the list.

Anyone else using the Parada 2 on a classic ?
I hear the grip is awesome in the dry but okay in the wet.
