I've not read many good things about about black diamond discs, mainly the cross drilled ones. They tend to develop hair line cracks.

Just spend what you can afford, you get what you pay for really. EBC are good, mintex too..

Eblag is good for sourcing info on different makes and styles or try AS Performance.

just been looking on AS performance, it looks like its a toss up between black diamond and tarox, but im unsure wheter to go with drilled disks as there a mixed view/opinions on them cracking, anythings got to be better than i have at the minute just want to see what going to be best for my budget, dont really want to spend a lot of the £200 mark but dont mind a bit more if there going to be worth it

If it were me I'd stay away from cross drilled unless they came with very good feedback the guys on here, not worth the risk IMHO. I'd go for some good grooved discs, the more the merrier.

I had the cross drilled black diamond discs and greenstuff pads previously. When I changed them they had hairline fractures around the drill holes. I believe all drilled discs, regardless of manufacturer, are susceptible to this.

I now have black diamond grooved and the predator pads. They are much better at cold temps compared to those crappy greenstuff pads. Also, I've just been on a trackday at bedford and they retarded the car well but after three laps the pedal travel was very long. This may be more to do with the brake fluid and calipers than the discs and pads. All in all, I'm very happy with the black diamond products considering the price.

Get the grooved discs, avoid cross drilled like the plague for the reasons that have already been given by folks.
Avoid the EBC pads, get something like the Ferodo DS2500 or Performance Friction Z rated (if they are out yet?).

Even more importantly, get some decent fluid in the system, i highly reccomend the Castrol SRF, its so consistent and has very very similar wet and dry boiling points.
Also, some braided hoese would also be a good adition as the standard rubber ones have a tendancy to flex when the fluid starts to get warm.
And even more importantly, bleed the system through thoroughly if you decide to change the fluid and replace the hoses!

If your caliper has the 'SUBARU' logo written on them then they are 4 pots with 294mm discs, if not then 2 pots with 277.

I'd also recommend giving Alyn at AS a ring, he'll tell you what you need with no bull
