Discs warped, pads burnt - what next?!

Discs warped, pads burnt - what next?!
I've got an 05 WRX PPP and during just 12 laps of the Nurburgring the pads started smoking and don't look too good any more and the front discs are now warped. I know that the standard gear isn't exactly ideally suited to track driving, but I was a little suprised that they gave up the ghost so easily (only 9500 miles on the car). Standard discs and pads on the two previous cars I've driven there worked okay and survived the ordeal.
I've got a couple more track days booked this year and as I'm going to have to replace them now, I was wonder what the best uprated disc/pad combo would be plus where to order them from.
Cheers

I guess another plug for Alyn of AS Performance is in order here. He'll sort ya
If you're into track days, go for two-piece discs and, ideally, alloy calipers. Not cheap

Cheers, I'll take a look.
From reading the forum I understand that the discs might not actually be warped, rather suffering from deposits from my pads. Unfortunately I think they are beyond help other than by skimming so I might as well replace them.

Non STI brakes haven't been up to that job for a while now.
I also cooked my discs at Spa but they sooned cooled and went back to how they were.
Unbelievable juddering when hot though, so still fell short of what was required of them!

The Stoptech ones look great but quite a bit more than I was thinking of spending. I've had some improvement with the juddering not being quite so bad now so I might have bought a bit of time to decide how to spend my money. I see that there is a Godspeed big disc conversion for around £600 which is about as much as I want to spend but I'm not sure if I can have that with standard 17" WRX wheels.

I've got an 05 WRX (albeit @ ~340hp) and I'm upgrading to the Stoptech kit as even with Padgid black pads, goodridge hoses and motul 5.1 fluid I still get this juddering noise when braking moderately hard from high speed (pad deposits).
As it's the only real weak point of the car I feel it worth going for something that's going to match the rest of the cars modded spec..
Sorry to say I've heard too many fitting problems and issues with replacement pads to put me off the godspeed 335 kit..
Look at it this way, if you got for a big brake kit, you can sell your 05 calipers for £250-£300 no problem..! Makes the Stoptech kit around £900and when you take a look at the spec/info on the Stoptech site, plus ZEN's performance on the same brakes at last weekends Time Attack, it's a no brainer IMHO..!

There are no issue's at all with the fitment of the Godspeed 335mm kit , they are very easy to fit , I dont see any issue's with replacement pads either , all the good makes are able to supply the oversized pad that this kit uses , all in all its a very good kit for the money , certainly on par performance wise of any brake kit size for size on the market
Rhys , the 335mm kit will fit under your standard WRX 17" wheels

FFS do NOT waste your money.
I have had so many problems it is unreal

It seems that every option has it's advocates and it's detractors! Being able to get the Godspeed kit into my 17" wheels would probably be enough to swing my decision that way to be honest.
I'm assuming that with the Stoptech stuff I'd need bigger wheels too, which would add a few hundred to the cost?

Try to sort out your current brakes first. Assuming you're using standard pads or similar, try a higher heat pad and flush through or completely change the brake fluid.
Then try a number of heavy slowdowns WITHOUT stopping altogether. Theory goes that the hotter pad/disk will clean up the previous "inferior" deposits. Then continue to drive sedately and let the brakes cool down for 5-10 minutes or so.
Worth trying, even on your current disks/pads, though I think the fluid would need checking/changing first.

That is the kit I have.

My Prodrive 330mm kit will be up for sale in a couple of weeks.
Discs and pads still have good life in them and I've got 2 new pairs of spare pads kicking around for them - they are track pads but can't remember what they are off the top of my head.
They were fitted to my WRX PPP wagon that evolved into 340bhp - I couldn't fault them at all. Shame they won't fit onto my next car.
I'll be after £550 plus P&P.

My opinion on stoptech not being in the same league quality wise or performance wise is based on the fact that my brother had them fitted to a BMW M3 and was seriously dissapointed in the amount of braking power and fade produced. He sold the kit and fitted the Ap kit and the difference was night and day between them. The fact that i am having problems at the moment with cheap EBC pads doesn't have anything to do with the quality of stoptech/ ap racing products by the way. It is however a reminder that you get what you pay for with most things !! and if you buy chaep as i did pad wise with ebc you buy twice.
