Newbie brake upgrade info please.
Hi, i am interested in uprating the brakes on my Classic 96. What options are available? Nothing too expensive.
I have a set of these fitted (17in). The standard brakes dont look much behind them and the stopping performance is not great and what i expected of the car. Many thanks in advance.
Yes they are the rears before someone points it out.

Discs are different size and you'll need some new pads.
If you have 1 pot rears then I think to upgrade to 2 pots you'll need brackets to be fitted.

if you get the subaru 2 pot calipers , and the 290mm discs to suit , Godspeed do a mounting bracket kit to fit these on , I seen them on ebay earlier for £99 which is cheaper than on there web site ;D

I've got a '98 UK car with Godspeed Brembo's on the front, 325mm discs, but still have the OE calipers on the rear, albeit with Godspeed grooved discs.
No problems so far. The rears do so little braking that upgrading is really about making them LOOK nice.........IMHO, of course
