Michelin Pilot Sports?

Anyone had any experience of these, especially on an Impreza?
My fleet dept are willing to try fitting these tyres to my MY01 in an attempt to address the tramlining problems that I'm experiencing.
I'm currently running the standard Bridgestone Pontenza's. Company has a deal with Michelin, thus SO2/3's etc. not an option.

That sounds a bit ominous...
I had them fitted today and it has cured the tramlining. Turn-in also now seems to be sharper. I'll "explore" the grip levels over the next few weeks.

Have them on a MY01 WRX, and they certainly sorted out the tramlining after the standard Bridgestones.
Turn in was definitely improved but as for outright grip couldn't comment, would probably end up testing the strength of the front end of the car rather than getting a good idea of the grip levels available (car more talented than the driver ;-)).

I should add that the Michelin Pilot Sports should not be confused with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, which defy the laws of physics
These will only fit 01 cars though.

Cups are a road legal slick.
They are made only for competitors in The Porsche Cup and the Porsche Classic Cup, but are occasionally available to buy.
Lambo races in this series and reported (on this bbs) that this tyre has reduced lap times by approx 2 seconds across the board, compared to the Pirelli PZero C (also a cut slick) that they were using last year.
On the road, these tyres just defy belief. Braking and cornering adhesion limits are mind numbing. When they do let go they are still very progressive and the car is still nicely adjustable.

Advice on Michelin Pilot sports would be scrub in well for a few hundred miles and ensure the tyre pressures are bang on, or even slighty higher while scrubbing them in, they recommend 2.3bar front and 2.2 bar rear which roughly equates to 32psi front and 31psi front.(for MY01) Check them as most tyre fitters often dont, maybe they will be bang on but check them.
They are not quiet, but neither is a scoob?? They are O.e fit on Some Evos, Big f off Porsches and the new M3 BMW, so cant be too bad. I have used Mich for years and a few times they have got me out of the sh*te, let me know what you think..
