Default EBC YellowStuff compound 1846

Hi,

I have recently received the brake pads YellowStuff "1846" of EBC while I had ordered the compound 1793.....
for the (DP4307) WILWOOD 6-pistons brakes of my Forester.

I am a little confused from the internet searching for this kind of pads because
I Found the comments below:

http://www.perfectbrakes.com/brakesf...ytunedcars.asp

FRONT brake pad set, Yellowstuff DM1846 hybrid street and track pad for sedans, muscle cars and sport compacts.
With highest friction level in EBC range and fantastic resistance to fade. This pads ability to provide superb braking
from cold makes this race compound suitable for both high speed highway use and racing alike. Pads feature
center line slots to prevent cracking, edge chamfers to reduce noise and EBC's new Brake-In coating which
cleans up rotors and accelerates pad break in. Dust rating similar to OEM pads.

and

EBC Yellowstuff is made in 2 formulations and DM1846 is the specialty compound for faster and
higher horsepower cars for fastest street use and track. Although a full blown race compound,
EBC Yellowstuff DM1846
has distinct advantage over normal race pads in that braking from cold is excellent
(most race pads require warm up making them unsuitable for highway driving). This is NOT a low dust pad
(EBC Redstuff Ceramic is our lowest dust formula for this vehicle range) but if maximum brake effect
and resistance to high temperatures and speeds is what you need, then EBC Yellowstuff DM1846 is the perfect choice.

Pads are shimmed, chamfered and slotted for silent operation and feature EBC's Brake-In surface coating for fast bed-in
of new pads after installation.

What kind of pads are they....? Street or track...? Why is there the designation of "
Although a full blown race compound,
EBC Yellowstuff DM1846"...? at the same time
with the designation of
"DM1846 is the specialty compound for faster and
higher horsepower cars for fastest street use and track
"....??

Are there any experience of these brake pads from anyone here...? Is there any possibility to have a quick destroy of my disc brakes...
because of the race attributes...?
Any help will be accepted.... thanks..

DM1793 compound I have my own experience of using front and rear pads on my Impreza. DM1846 is the next compound up and is a slight improvement over the DM1793.

I have used these pads at the Nurburgring and on the road normal driving, performance on both is very good.

Buck .... I would like to thank you very much for your immediate response.

I wouldn't worry too much. During the weekend trip at the Nurburgring I did 39 laps, approximately 530 track miles. No sign of any wear on the AP discs (AP 6 pots).
