355mm??

I have 325 mm under 17's and it's a tight fit.

I don't think you'll get 355's under owt smaller than 19's, although you MAY get away with 18's.

You'll defo need new calipers and probably fittings for them, and almost certainly, new purpose made braided brake lines as the old ones will be too small.

Why on earth would you buy HUMUNGOUS discs without researching it a bit? Unless this is a windup?

Anyway, I can't do better than recommend you contact Alyn at AS Performance. A brake guru, amongst other things.
His username is "stockcar".

OK. Have a look at www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk.

The main problem with Scoobs seems to be caliper to spoke contact, but if you can make 'em fit............. What calipers were you thinking of? And what spacers?

you need at least 18" wheels for 355 mm, but you will need to double check in your specific case.

General max sizes are
308mm for 16"
335mm for 17"
360mm for 18"

I have the godspeed discs and calipers, calipers hit my 18s, spaced them out, then needed longer wheel studs . Gave up on the Godspeed route as (in my opinion) they are cr@p, mine are now being used as door stops ....... About all they are good for.

355 AP kit fits under 18's, 362 AP kit needs 19's though.

Don't know about your specific setup.

Can't disagree more.

I have the 325mm kit with Godspeed Brembos, fitted easily, looks the biz, works perfectly.

Delivered within three days of ordering.

Quotes on the site. fitment to 18" alloys .... errrr I don't think so .

Besides, the size of the wheel has no effect on the outer edge of the disc rubbing against the inside edge of the caliper (where it has not been 'ground' out enough !!!).

I was not going to drive any further than 100yds up my road, not worth me dying for a crap set of brakes.

Sorry if this seems harsh Ian Godney's 'Lap dog' ...... Just in my opinion, obviously ( oh, and my mechanics ).

Is this another case of an unhappy customer not speaking up so the problem can be solved? Possibly also wrong fitment?

Not wanting to have a go, but it does seem a bit harsh to slate brakes that there has obviously been some manufacturing/fitting problem with, also driving 100 yards wont even wipe the grease from the mechanics hand off the disk let alone bed in a new set of disks and pads.

Back on topic:

I have the 335mm AP 6 pot kit with 17's and you couldn't fit even a hair extra in there.

I have the 335mm Godspeed AP kit and am very happy with the performance. I use the car mostly on track days and cannot fault the equipment which was fitted over a year ago (around 10 track days since then).

You do need to be careful with fitment - the kit is advertised as fitting over 17" wheels but I think it's doubtful that they will fit over most 17" wheels. For instance, they definitely don't fit over P1 17"ers. Its not the disc size that is the problem, its the caliper hitting the inside of the wheel spokes. For reference they fit Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 (not 1.2) and Ultralite A-Spec wheels no probs, but only a few mm of clearance.

Guys, I will not fault the discs themselves, the big problem is the mounting brackets, they make the inner edge of the caliper rub against the outer edge of the disc (the very outside, as if looking through the vents), this problem is enough for me to 'not' fit the brakes, they are , as said above, making good door stops though , the calipers (are not AP's, I believe to be butchered Jag parts now) have had the inner edge ground down with an angle grinder, so the disk will pass, but it doesn't .

Ian does know of the problem, via Email and phone, and I left Mobile numbers, fax numbers, Email addresses, and I wasn't getting any joy, until I aired my views on Scoobynet, then I got a response within a couple of hours.

IF I do bother to get a bigger brake kit, I will get a Hi-Spec kit, I never had a problem with them before, and Ians was supposed to be good so gave them a go ......... Wish I hadn't now

I have 355 disc under my P1 18's but it will depend on the callipers you choose and the design of the wheel.
