Stripped brake line union
Bugger: fitting Goodridge hoses at the weekend and couldn't free the union with one of the existing rubber hoses ... and managed to round the 10mm nut off good and proper.
Benefit of hindsight, etc, lots of things I've since learned that would have avoided this but there you go.
Where to now? Anyone know of a good brake specialist in/around SE London who can sort out a new line from the master cylinder to the brake hose?
Help!

Making up a copper brake pipe is a piece of p***. The pipe costs about 50p/metre and the flaring tool costs about a tenner. Any reasonably competent back street garage will have the kit and be able to make a pipe up for you. This is one case where the dealer / specialist will charge you a small fortune and you'll end no better off.
Alterntively a decent motor factors will have premade pipes off the shelf in various lengths in various different fittings. You just need to check if it's male or female at each end and the approx length (then add a couple of inches).
It'll never be as neat as the original as the home made bends are never as pretty as the orginal machine bent ones but it'll work and be safe.

Cheers; that's set my mind at rest at bit. After some unsuccessful ringing round to alleged brake specialists "No mate, we wouldn't do that kind of thing" a local place is willing to tackle it so we'll see.
Proper pain. In Halfords today I saw the spanner that probably would have saved me the grief; a Laser brake fitting one. Cost? £4.
