TOYO PROXES T1-R

Had em on my Scoob before I moved on to bigger and better things.
Pros -
cheap
Good grip when scrubbed in in both wet and dry
Cons -
Wear pretty quickly, but you get what you pay for.
VERY unstable when first put on - for the first 500 odd miles, always felt like the rear wasn't connected to the car (put these on the back first)
All in all, good tyres IMHO. GSD3s are better though.

What sort of mileage were you getting out of these under normal driving conditions.I'm after something with good grip but don't want to be spending £300 every 6 months.Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Oh dear! lol............. P7000s will never be a good tyre, Be prepaired to spend big money if you want VERY good tyres............. Do not pay middle money foe the above type of tyre, if you want to save some money buy some real cheap **** tyre fitted for £60 and learn to drive! lol

IMHO T1-R's are a very good tyre. They were on my Spec C which won the Handling Shootout Competition and have worn extremely well. I have had the same set on the Spec C for about 12 months, covered about 8000 miles, completed a number of laps around a local adverse handling circuit (about 20) and also did the ScoobyNetLive handling circuit on them. They still have 5mm tread left all round. I can't obviously comment on other peoples car set-up, but on mine they are fine and dandy in any weather conditions.

Shaun.

We recently fitted T1R's as replacements for the stock Yokohamas on our MR2 Roadster. As someone else commented, they felt unbelievably bad for (at least) the first 500 miles. I would have thought that something was wrong with them had other people on the MR2 forum not reported the same. Now that they've worn in they grip extremely well, but obviously the MR2 is a very different car to the Scoob (mine's still running stock Potenzas).

I can highly recommend Mich' Pilot sports PS2's and can Highly advice against Mich' Pilot sports (PS1's) as they utter tosh IMHO

I'm using the T1R's and finding them a very good all round performing tyre. The grip in dry and wet is excellant from them. They squeel a bit in the dry but still grip and when pushed you get a bit of understeer from them and thats all. They are sensitive to pressures and run mine at 34 psi front 32 psi at back.

I'm on Toyo's now, T1R's, my last set were T1S's
I love them, they are even better than my last set, and I think, better than the GSD3's I had before that.
'98 UK car running about 300bhp, Whiteline ARB at rear, Whiteline droplinks all round and anti-lift kit, with geometry set at Powerstation.
BTW: it's no good expecting ANY tyre to be marvellous unles the car's geometry is set to optimum.

different car but i have a set of t1-r's and i think they are very good ,they have done some track days ,some 1/4 miles days and a good few thousand miles enthusiastic driving and they still have loads of tread left ,not even half worn yet !!.
They are much better than my previous michelin pliot sports in both wet and dry conditions.
Tbh though although they are excellent on road and good on track ,in my opinion they havent got stiff enough side walls and shoulders for serious track pounding but neither had my michelins and i would suspect any other road tyre would be the same ,i have since gone on to r888's which are only £20 each more expensive and they are just in a different street ,putting any normal tyre back on after these will be like driving with a crippled car.
They will wear quicker but they just make driving awesome and thats worth more to me than a few quid extra in the pocket.
