Ok, i have a 97 RA and the other day i took out the battery. when i reconnected it i noticed that both my brake lights were out but the top rear windscreen light was not? i dont know if my lights were not working before i took out the battery. the bulbs however are both fine and though i could not actually locate the brake lights fuse i did however take out all the fuses in the engine bay and in the drivers footwell and inspect them. all were fine. can anyone offer me any help? my understanding of electrics is fairly poor lol.

If the bulbs are o.k. (are you sure? Have you lit them up?) it is unlikely to be a fuse as they are generally on seperate fuses. The fact your third light works means the switch is ok. That only leaves the wiring and the earth return path to make the circuit so I guess you need to look at those. (Always assuming the circuit hasnt been butchered in the past for some reason)
