hiya,
I recently purchased a 1993 subaru impreza and was told that it had Godspeed 308mm Brake Kit I dont have a receipt for the purchase of the kit but have a receipt for some caliper pins for the above kit, but im in need of some new brake pads and im just wanting to know if anyone could advise me on which ones I would need and point me in the wright direction. Ive tried emailing godspeed but no reply yet Ill enclose a picture of the discs and calipers if that will help thanks in advacnce!!!

Could well be a 308mm Godspeed kit. The current one uses calipers off a Jaguar car but because clearances are tight for the 16" Subaru wheel the pads have to be machined so they clear the disc bell and the Allen bolts that hold the disc to the bell. Pretty irrelevant to you however as yours looks like the previous kit which uses calipers from a Volvo. Unfortunately I don't know which Volvo or whether the pads also need machining. For choice of pads I would recommend Ferodo DS2500 (work well in my kit) but I think you will have to persevere and wait for Ian at Godspeed to get back to you because if they do need machining I think if you buy them off him he will machine them for free. He does have a phone number but E-mail is best (you'll be lucky if he answers the phone). He's often away rallying or some such so keep trying and sooner or later you should get lucky.

Be sure to tell Alyn that it's the 308 kit from Ian with the 'Volvo' calipers...... i've seen them before, and they're defo Volvo calipers.......

Just been on to a mate who had this kit, he 'thinks' they're Volvo 740 pads, if you have the day off, it might be worth trying the local motor factors, thye might be able to look in a book and get the shape and size of the pads for you..... hell they might even be able to get cheap pads for you... ie 8-12 quid a set!!!
