Looks like the Eagle F1 GS-D3 come out top - BUT - if you sort the catagories its the Pilot Sport PS2 which are consistently 2nd or 3rd, the Eagle F1 GS-D3 come all over the place - 'Steering response it comes 9th', 'dry traction' comes in 5th.

Was unsure about whether to go Eagle F1 GS-D3 or Pilot Sport PS2, may go for the Pilot Sport PS2 now?

Yeah, I'd decided to get F1s but, in addition to the stats, comparing Subaru WRX users' reports for them and for PS2s, I'm beginning to change my mind.

My next set of tyres will be Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's ... assuming the original Pirelli Nero Zero's ever wear out!! 24k and still 5mm tread left all round

Pilot sports are fantastic tyres but have the price tag to match, I would have them over the Eagle F1's any day with no money worries.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's---: £161
Pirelli P Zero Nero's--------: £141
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's-: £116
(*Prices taken from mytyres.co.uk for 235/40/18 tyre)

Given the tyres are your only point of contact with the road (unless things are going worryingly wrong) £45 per tyre is not a significant difference given most people seem quite content to spend £600-£1000+ to speed up their Scoob.
I appreciate there are those on a budget, but given the choice I'd rather have the best tyres and forego the dumpvalve and its extra 30bhp

Just my 2p

Isn't this an American survey, I assume with American cars on American roads? Do they have roads like on Exmoor?

That's a good point Nick. These tyres may or may not be the same as those sold in Europe - I have no idea but thought it best to share the following.

I recently returned some tyres to the reseller (Dunlop SP Sport FM901) when I found out that they weren't even meant to be sold in this country. The Tyre Doctor at Dunlop (see Drivers Know website) said that they were tyres made by Sumitomo in Japan under licence to Dunlop and in fact were R&D'd for the American market. Therefore the different climatic conditions made for different tyre requierments to that of the European market.

Just some thoughts.
