Bridgestone SO3's - should I change to something else?
Need to change 2, 3 or maybe all 4 tyres on my Legacy GTB - 215/45/17
Have Bridgestone SO3's at the moment
Any recommendations? Seen good things here about Eagle F1s.
I'm looking for a good balance of grip especially in wet but without too much noise on motorways and no bad tramlining. Car is mainly used as family car so ultimate grip not a priority...

I went from SO3's to Eagle F1's GSD3's on my MY99 Impreza. The ride is quieter and the wet weather grip is very good and they don't tramline (Something that the SO3's done when they were more than half worn). Unfortunately when the roads are dry and you're 'pushing on' round the twisties they tend 'squirm' around and generally make the car feel horrible. I wouldn't have another set but they might be fine on a Legacy. AIMHO.
Cheers.
Cheers.

I prefer the squirm effect, it gives you an indication of how hard you're pushing the tyres. You can lesson this side wall movement by increasing the presuure 2/3 psi. They are great tyres both in the wet or dry. drive steadily for the first 1000 miles and then they are scrubbed in.
