Bit of help with tyre sizing
I'm sorry, I'm sure it's been asked time and time again. . . .
I've a classic facelift 98 STI wagon.

What would be the correct tyre size for me.
There is some debate wether to go with:
205/45/17 or 215/40/17
Does it actually make mych difference?
I understand the 215/40/17's are more widely available.
I guess I should be going for a V (and above) speed rating?

That may help. Assuming standard 205/50-16 currently fitted (late classic standard size) the 215/40-17 will be 1.2% lower speed than your old tyres for same speedo reading as it has smaller circumference and 205/45-17 will be 0.8% higher speed than your current speedo reading - all approximate and will vary from brand to brand by a little.
I would go with the 215/40's. means your speedo will read less than it currently does at a given speed, therefore you will think you are going faster than you are.
It's all relative.
You can lose that much with normal tyre wear, wouldn't worry and rather the speedo reads high than low IMHO.
Oh, and V or above, also preferably 87 load rated or higher.

my speedo (according to Road Angel) already reads about 12% too low. . . .
I'll have to investigate further me thinks.
I thought STI's were fitted with 17"'s?
