Post Which wheels/tyres fit classic ?

Firstly,do bugeye and newage impreza wheels have the same fitment as the late classic My99(with standard 4 pot brakes)? ie. offset.
If so,what is the widest tyre, fitted to the above wheels, that will fit under the classic arch without catching or needing to roll the arches?

minium off set is et48 but the p1 alloys on my99 uk turbo are et52 so it would depend on the alloy wheel

Standard newage wheels will fit a classic with 'SUBARU' 4 pots no problem.
They come fitted with 215/45/17 tyres, which will fit, but the recommended size on classics are 205/45/17 or the more common and easily available 215/40/17.

18's will fit with 215/35 tyres.

Thanks for the reply's.
Just what I wanted to know,as im thinking of picking up some used, standard newage or bugeyed 17"alloys,and most come fitted with 215's.
Although 205's are recomended for classics I take it the 215's won't rub my standard arches then?

Both 215/45 and 215/40 should fit without any rubbing issues, unless your cars been dropped to the ground

On classic the recommended size to fit is 215/40/17 as the rolling circumference closely matches the original 205/50/16 tyres.
