Default 205 tyres on 7.5" rim or is 215 better?

Can I put 205 width tyres on a 7.5" rim. It seems OK from the various charts and stuff I have seen but in reality is the tyre a bit stretched? Is 215 the width to go for? Its on a classic so 225 could rub from what I have read on here, is that right?

I think a 215/40 would be better mate. 205 might look a bit stretched!

Also if you are thinking of getting a 205/45, i think theyre a bit pricier and harder to come by!

I've got 215/40 Toyo proxes on my 7.5"x17"s.
