Anyone know anything about Wanli S-1099 tyres (215/45-17). They look just like Yoko AVS Sport

Never tried them myself but wanli are in the very very very budget tyre category, so i wouldnt recommend them for any high performance car.

A mate tried Wanli's though I don't kniow what model tyre.
He said they were great even did a few runds at Santa pod on them.

Untill it rained!!!!!!!!! He said they would make good dry track day tyres as long as you put decent tyres on to go home on if it was raining

You've already made up your mind, but to confirm your doubts I saw a mate of mine destroy one of these Wanli tyres in just 9 laps of a 1.1m track this weekend. The outside edge looked like a half peeled orange, with the steel bindings showing clearly through, and the remaining tread peeling away. Stay well clear IMHO.

This pic is of the tyre he needed to change, hence fitting the Wanli, but this had done +8k road miles and about 50 hard track laps to get like this...

...the Wanli's were worse after less than 10 miles

Here you go, a Wanli tyre after just 9 laps, or 10 miles...
