Default Grand Final AP v KAD

To you all

Is it it horses for corses, or is one so much better then the other?

Granted, AP have been a front runner for many years and is the choice of many great teams around the world, but has the dark horse caught up with the favorite yet. KAD is a better price.

All points of view and facts, regardles of your background will be greatly received. AP 6 pot 330 mm disc = £1701.00

KAD 6 pot 330 mm disc = £1458.00

Both are a lot of money, but which one.

Manny Thanks

Terry

Got both on different cars, as you mention AP has been a front runner for years & KAD are better priced.

I have just fitted my KAD's with a set of RS29 Pagid pads & they are awesome...if you want to try both kits then come on over......

There is also a third way. Godspeed does a kit with AP calipers and Godspeed discs, bells etc, plus DS2500 pads. In the recent group buy these were circa £1300 delivered (dunno what standard price is though, prob around £1450). The discs are slightly bigger, 335 mm IIRC, and quite a bit thicker than AP discs.

At Cadwell last friday, my mate who has a Evo VII with the KAD 330mm kit & the same pads as me commented on how much stronger the retardation was on my brakes. Though it has to be said that mine are brand new and his are 18 months old. Under the wheels the Godspeed discs look much chunkier than the KADs, the distance from inside to outside the disc appears substantially larger, larger than the extra 5mm would suggest. Could be an optical illusion though!

Would totally agree with that .... group buy price was £1275, normal price is £1400.

Discs are huge and the engineering quality and back up is first class .... bargain!

Ive got the exact same kit as Carlos13 .... think I got them in the same groupbuy!

Also, while im no expert here, ive been told that, although the AP calipers are possibly the best you can buy at any price, their own discs are nothing special and certainly no better than many others on the market.

BTW replacement Godspeed rotors for this kit are c. £250!!
