Thanks Ritchie I was a little bit concerned as to where the excess brake fluid went when the pistons are pushed back in and would it be wise to loosen the nipple and put a pipe on the nipple into a bottle of half full of brake fluid to stop air getting back into the system if the piston moved forward again?

If you can push the piston without opening nipples I would recommend doing it this way as you will not need to bleed the system as air cannot get in. If the piston moves forward again it'll just draw fluid in from the reservoir.

My tip is - you don't need any! It's the most straightforward pad change I've done for a while.

it fills the reservoir back up. there won't be much - certainly not enough to overfill the reservoir unless you've already topped it up.

absolute piece of cake, the hardest part was jacking up the car and taking the wheels off
