Question Know of a better tyre than these?

I run a serious Sti V3 hill climb car.
I'm currently running Kumho V70A soft compound 16 x 45 x 205 section

Anyone know if there is a stickier tyre, preferably road legal.

Graham.

I run Toyo R888s on mine and whilst I can't compare to the Kumho, they are very sticky. They come up to temperature much quicker than my mate's D01Js (Evo VII) but conversely they overheat quite quickly. They only last around 10 mins before needing to be cooled down (hoping this is due to my standard suspension though).

They are dirt cheap too. I paid £92 per corner for 205/40/17 last time out, from camskill.

They are also (bizarrely) fantastic when the road is wet, so long as there is no surface water, give far more grip in these conditions that normal road tyres. They dont work well in low temps though (no problem for you I guess).

I have been considering trying something different next time, but I think I'll keep them on until all the suspension mods are done to see if there is a difference.

Hoosiers tend to heat up fastest, not sure if they do anything road legal though?

Hoosiers are popular on the hills instead of Avon slicks, but their road tyres are much the same as Kumhos.
The Hoosier sprint tyres do heat fast, but a hill climb starts and finishes in about 50 seconds....so not much time to warm up!

Thanks for taking interest!

Its a tricky question as you need them hot quickly.

I use dunlop SP sport RACE but again they need heat to work properly

Pirelli P corsa C, same again i expect

Yoko Ao48 same

same all around I reckon.......... not sure what the best compromise is? What do other hill climbers or sprinters use?
