Question 2002 STi wheels on a MY99 classic Impreza

Hi all,

Appreciate this is a popular thread! I have some 2nd hand wheels of an 02 Impreza to fit to my '99 UK Classic. They current have 215/45/17 tyres on and am wondering if these are too large? My car is standard in terms of suspension setup......

I see from trawling that the recommended is 215/40/17, when trying the wheels should I be looking for clearance on the suspension strut, is it the width that causes the problem?

Advice appreciate, am fairly new to all this......

Dave

They should fit fine, but the proflie of the tyres isn't correct and the gearing will be increased by a small margin, and the speedo will under-read by a few percent as well.

just as a follow up as it still seems a popular thread, 215/45/17 fitted straight on with no rubbing whatsoever on a '99 impreza
