Could use some model paint such as Humbrol enamel or Hammerite.

One trick is to spread the paint on a wooden block and press against the raised surface of the letters, touching it up afterwards

Tried the block method and it was a real PITA. Ended up having to re-paint calipers a few times because of it and just left the letters un-highlighted in the end.

I used a white touch-up stick for mine, still holding up and pretty easy to do.
