What set up you got fella ?
A squeally noise may well be the wear indicators rubbing on the disc's. Change the pads.
If you running Grooved, spotted or drilled disc's you can often here these as well. Difficult to describe the noise, but imagine if you will a tube train coming into a station. Sound a little like that. Got to have a vivid imagination though.

Terry, further to previous discussions, and the fact that I'd solved the problem................................I FECKIN HAVE NOT........!!!!AAAAAHHHHHHGGGG.
Now also fitted rear EBC grooved and dimpled discs and redstuff ceramic pads and the noise is even louder, and pissing me off on nice days with window down.
Do you think it's just the way it is?
Pissed off too.
Si.

i just have the standard subaru brakes and setup...the pads arent worn, they were changed at 30000 miles and theyve only done 4000 miles...?! dont get me wrong, theyre not loud, but i can certainly hear them at slow speeds and under braking...
