Are classics diagonal split or front/rear on bleeding brakes?

Just bled mine using Jim's method ie: farthest first and it seems ok, although this was my first time at brake bleeding!
A small amount of travel in the pedal before biting but fairly hard now with braided hoses and new dot5.1 fluid.

Bled the system last night using the following order that many people have said to go by for subarus and the car is fine now:
front driver side
rear passenger side
front passenger side
rear driver side
