Anyone used Yokohama A539 tyres?
I was looking at a set of these tyres as a replacement for my RE04 225/45/17 tyres.
The tread is interesting to say the least
They're just shy of £115.00 fitted
Interested in knowing what they're like if anyones tried them. They *look* to be a good wet weather tyre but i'm not sure of the "crossed box" pattern for in the dry?
Views anyone?

Might not be much use.
Got these on our MX5, can't say I been over impressed with them. Rear wet grip is not good, how much of this is due to car/tyre is hard to say, they don't feel as grippy as some Avon's which we had fitted on a previous MX5. Dry grip is good.
They are wearing OK, about half worn with 27K on the clock, although 24K of this is wifie miles

I found them to be a bit noisy, but worked well in both wet and dry. And I'm sure you can find them for a lot cheaper than £115.
Have you looked at Toyos. Even better grip than the Yokos and cheaper too.

I had a set of them on my old Corrado, couldn't wait to change them. Good grip in the dry, reasonable in the wet, but in damp conditions (misty mornings) they were down right dangerous. Wore very quickly (thankfully) too. IIRC I only paid £35/corner.
Echo what's been said about Toyo and F1's, but also worth looking at Vredestein UltraC's. Had lots of good reports on these recently. Supposed very good wet & dry grip and excellent wear...
Or Hancook Ventus, cheap but I've never had a problem with them.....

Had them on my Punto GT and found them alright, lasted about the same as other tyres I have had but I did find them a bit dodgy in the damp. I prefered the tyre they replaced - the A510 (think it was called the 510 or was it A520)?
You can get Toyo's alot cheaper than the price you have mentioned on the net, try www.mytyres.net or have a look on Ebay a place called Leigh Tyres was doing them cheaper than mytyres with next day delivery on four tyres at only £10, I ordered two off him at 2pm on a Monday and they arrived on Tuesday morning That was a few months ago now though.
