Default brake advice

Hi, posting this on behalf of a mate,

I have a MY00 subaru impreza turbo, my front discs and pads need replacing ASAP, ive been told to upgrade them from the OEM standard 1s, so ive done a bit of reseach and found that going for something like ferados or pagid RS4-2-1 brake pads and Tarox G88 brake disc's is a good choice, also goodridge braided brake lines and some dot 5.1 is a good choice, so any help and advice would be much appreciated?

Cheers,
Spanky.

Give Stockcar a bell http://www.asperformance.com/
He'll sort you out with decent advice and what you need.
Personally would not touch the Tarox G88, too many grooves to eat the pads.
Ferodo DS2500, Pagid RS4-2-1, Mintex 1144/1155 or EBC Redstuff Ceramics seem to be the pad of choice

I have always found the Tarox massively aggressive on pads also. I have never really found any advantage in having more than 12 grooves.

As mentioned above speak to Alyn the resident brake expert

I had Tarox on my car. G88 + 1155 is ok, you can wear out 2 discs for one pad set If you push it really hard you can crack it. Second setup was metaceramic + OE 4pot. Expensive and can last max 10 000km and no warranty for this marketing product. So Iam not really fan for that Italian company...
I have Godspeed Brembo 308mm 16" kit and it is great.
If you have not enough money fot this, look for CTF grp. N disc + Pagid or DS2500. Not so goodlooking disc but strong and reliable.
