Default Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2

Hi Guys,

After some advice regarding tyres.

I have a 2001 MR2 Roadster and am seriously in need of 2 new rear tyres. Ive always run the car on the GS-D2's front and rear, however, im now being told that they are either on back-order from Goodyear or that they are no longer available.

Does anyone know if this is the case or where i can get 2 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2 (205x50x15) from????

If not, what tyre would you reccomend for the rears, to run with the F1's up front?

Any advice would be appreciated asap! Many thanks

Hello. It could be that they have been replaced with GS-D3. When I last bought some about 2 years ago they supplied GS-D2. I bought some a month ago and they had GS-D3s instead which weren't available in the size I wanted 2 years ago.

Well i think you will find that goodyear have now stopped making the gsd2 in that size, so its the gsd3 now! brilliant tyre & when you are employed by goodyear they aint half cheap. You can run the gsd3's on the back they will work fine with the gsd2's on the front.

Can others please comment on whether it is OK to run GSD2's on front end and GSD3's on back end of a bugeye WRX (215/45/17). Are there any differences in the two types? - would any subtle difference be a problem to the safety and handling of the car? I currently have Goodyear F1's (need to check exactly which variant) on the back and Potenzas on the front - I want to make the car more stable in handling - I think the Potenzas really are the cause of tramlining but it could be made worse by having the Goodyears on the back which behave very differently.

Incidently, Black Circles say they are offering the GSD2's but I thught these had been phased out.
