Default anybody used Kumho track day tyres

I am thinking of buying these http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...4b102s344p1888 for my clio 182 as Toyo, avon and Yoko trackday tyres are not availible in my size.
Has anybody got experience of these tyres as there not cheap at £115 plus fitting and i don't want to waste money.
Does anybody know of any other road legal track tyres in 205/45/16.

You will NOT be dissapointed!

I have hill climbed and driven on the road with them (they are legal) and they are fantastic.
The 16's are available in soft.medium.hard. I use mediums which would be great on the track, the softs are VERY grippy.

At £110 they are cheaper than Yoko/Dunlop etc by a large amount.

I really think you will be happy with them.

Thanks 911
Will medium compound be ok for a front wheel drive car on the track.
The Toyo R888 looks cheaper but not available in my size.

The BMW series do track events (full race conditions) on Medium grade.
The sidewalls are very 'square' on the Kumho's and very stiff.

It will be a good choice I'm sure, and £110 is not too bad!

I have a set of these for my STI7. You will love them. Soooo much grip. It's a huge upgrade over road tyres.

Will I be able to just run them on the front and keep the michelin pilot exalto 2's on the rear or will it make the back end too loose?
This will save me money and i will only have to carry two spare wheels in case it rains.

I rang Kumho Motorsport last year to ask if the tyres were really directional and they said it didn't matter once they were scrubbed in. Obviously I was thinking about tyre wear on a fat scooby and hoping to rotate. Can't answer your question about the grip levels though.

Although the tread depth is weak compared to, say, Toyo's, the grip in the wet is really good too!
It is when you come to torrential rain at speed that you will need to take car as the water cant be shed by the meager grooves.
I race my Scooby in the wet on these tyres.

Cost is there for everyone, but i really do not back the idea of Kumho/Sports.
Buy the 4 and enjoy a new level of grip.

I have had my V70's (17 x 205 x 40) for 5 K miles and 1 1/2 racing seasons now and the fronts are getting a bit light, the rears are not too far behind. For racing i will go for the soft on 16's for next year.

I've decided to go for indy sport tarmac rally slicks from Ears Motorsport. They only cost about £50+vat and can be cut to help in damp conditions, and help put some heat in the rear tyres. Thanks to John at Ears who was very helpful and knowledgable, all I need now is another scorching hot trackday like last friday at Anglesey.

I've done that!
To get them to really work you need to get them HOT.
I am quicker on a 50 second hill climb on my Kumho's.

Good luck!
