Will these fit a classic ?
Seen the following advertised:
7.5 x 18 alloy wheels with 225/35 x 18 directional brand new tyres suitable for a Subaru Imprezza. 5X100mm PCD 45mm OFFSET.
I thought the correct tyre size for a classic was 215/35 and also not sure on the offset - shouldnt that be 52 ??? [ Guessing these are for a MY01 onwards then ? ]
Help appreciated.

Offset for a classic is between 48 and 52mm (should be the same for the new age WRX but not the STi which is different), tyre size max is 215, 225 will rub
What are these off originally (model of scoob) or dont they say?

Tonys right about the rubbing, albeit only at the back.......angle grinder can fix that
It doesnt affect the speedo though.
He's also right about the offset.

Just fitted 225/40/18's to my classic - with the help of a 4lb lump hammer and 12" socket extension to fettle the rear shock spring cup - didn't need much modifying and it's not the bit that actaully holds the spring, it's the shroud that fits the cup to the rear shock. Speedo didn't read properly before as it's an import and I haven't bothered fitting a new speedo face (mph speedo fitted but face needs replacing to read correctly)

They aren't far out. The width is right, just the offset is a bit low. If you fitted 215/35s rather than 225/35, then you'd claw back 5mm of wheelarch clearance (out of the 8mm that'd be ideal).

Yep - those are the ones. I emailed him and he is going to fit 215/35/18s. So hopefully they will be ok then. Out of interest TommoWRX - how do you find the ride / handling now ? [ Apart from the rubbing ! ]

apart from the rubbing the handling is alot better and the ride is good. everyone does comment on how good the wheels look on a scooby you wont be dissapointed they make a change from the usual multi spokes that everyone seems to go for

Excellent - should get them in the next couple of days - and am looking forward to it. Saw a scoob with them on at Japfest and thought they looked excellent. Wasnt prepared to pay the extra money for the OZ wheels I had been thinking about !

When you get your wheels on your car could you please let me know if the 215 tyres stop the rubbing as i have still got the 225 on mine and am looking to change to 215 but is expensive step if it doesnt work

One other thing.....
It may not be the actual arches it rubs on. Check the rear bumper erm.. clips/screwy things. They may need a bit of 'manipulation' to ensure clearance.

Got the wheels on now and there is some rubbing on the rear with 4 in the car and cornering hard. Guess I will have to investigate and probably remove the rear arch protectors. Thought it was going to be OK with the 215s on a 18x7.5 wheel and ET 45 but guess not !

Are these the Arospeed RS GT wheels you're talking about? Aren't there a few guys on here that aren't happy with the finish? They said after a while, the lacquar comes off the polished rim. Maybe I'm wrong, would like to see that this isn't the case as I'm interested in these wheels too. Can you please give me the url for the ebay item no? Or can you forward me the guys e-mail address?
Thanks
