Default weird rubbing/ticking noise??

when im driving.... if i go round a right hand corner, any degree... i get a ticking/rubbing noise... sounds like its coming from the wheel/brake area...

anyone any ideas what this could be?

its not a stone... had the tyres checked...

the brake discs are a bit worn and need replacing could it possibly be the pads and discs are that worn that they are touching?? wouldnt have thought so...

cheers
James

Check the wheel bearing/hub for play. I've got this and as play increases the disk starts to "wobble" and make contact with the caliper

I'm getting something similar on my P1. It started as a cross between high speed rubbing and a c/v joint failure at high speed on motorway roundabouts. I'm getting ticking and ringing sounds now at altogether lower speeds, sounds like the brake backplate or similar is getting clobbered.

Can I just jack up the car and try to wobble the wheels or would I need to apply more leverage to find something knackered?

Try applying the brakes (gently!) when you hear the noise, I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a seized pad rubbing on the disc but only when cornering.

I am told this is due to the need for a new front drive shaft.

I've got the same problem and I can see why since all the gaiters have split and its been running dry (at both ends).

Right turn probs point to left hand drive shaft.
