Question Views on P-Zeros

I have just picked up some P1 OZ alloys with above tyres on and wondered what other peoples experiences of them were? Previously had toyo proxies with nothing but a good alround thums up.

Preferred Toyos to P-Zeros - too much tramlining and poor wear rate. I'd have the Toyo's over the Pirelli's anyday (or Goodyear F1s, my current tyres, which are outstanding)

i used to use pzeros, in fact got through 3 sets, as it was the only option at the time,(205/45 17) they are good in the dry, but was almost caught out a couple of times in the wet on hevily cambered bends or roundabouts ,understeered like hell, eventually changed to bridgestone which were good all round, never tryed toyos though as i wanted to keep the original tyre size.

regards
dave

Last time I had P-Zero's on my car was about 3 years ago on the P1. Not bad at all in the dry, but they would slip slide everywhere in the wet.

Apparently the new Rosso versions are very good in both (thought I've not put this to the test myself and others rate the Nero version to)

Pzeros on 16" wheels were lethal in the damp, OK in the wet IF warm. There are many better performing tyres in the wet IMO

Which P-Zero? The Corsa is remarkably good in the wet for a semi-slick, but doesn't like standing water much Can't comment on any of the others in the range.

I run PZero's and found they did tramline a bit and understeer loads in the wet. And the outside edge of the front tyres died loads quicker than the rest of the tyre when driven hard.
However, since getting the Prodrive gemoetry settings on the car all tramlining has gone and they wear is much more even - had no cracking of the outsdie edges like I was getting before. Hardly any understeer either and they have plenty of grip wet of dry to carry far too much corner speed for the road. Love 'em and my next tyres will be PZero too.

I have Pzero nero's with the 18" PFF7 setup and find them very, very good. I've done a few trackdays and grip levels are high. One trackday was during a monsoon @ Knockhill and the levels of grip surprised me, felt as quick in the wet as in the dry. Although i wasn't. I'll likely stick with them when changing.

darkblueturbo, mine lost it on the outside edges first as well. Although this was thru' mucho provacation around knockhill
