Huxley / Beastie,

How do you find the F1s compared to what you have used before?

I have an option on a set at an very attractive £90 per corner in 215/40 R17.

Cheers,

Alex

Alex,

I've had them on for about 12 months now and find them to be very good, you know exactly where you are with them (very progressive).

Showing a little signs of wear on the outside edges but that's just my driving I think

Mine are showing sings of ware on the sides as well so it will be off to ATS Newbury to have a word with a man i know to swap them over for me i would have to say the same as Daz 4 i tend to throw it around a lot it don't help driving an astra van before i get home to drive the toy!!

i think they offer great value for money at the price i pay (trade)

Ive got Toyo Proxes T1 on just now. 215 40 17's. I had Pirellis on before.I have found to my cost that if you dont run at least 33 psi in this size of tyre the tread wears on the inside front edges.
Havent got any experience of the Goodyears.
Sorry for any confusion.

Currently running Eagle F1s (215/40ZR17) having replaced the original Pirelli P-Zeroes (205/45ZR17).

The biggest difference is noise, the Eagles are a lot quieter on the road and the noise they do make is lower in frequency, which seems to help.

I would say that they have a bit more grip in the dry and quite a lot more grip in the wet. Seem very progressive on the limit. The tread pattern looks cool too!

Currently running 33psi all round.

Daz: Are you running lowered suspension? Or have you mucked around with the offsets? I don't have any trouble with mine, but it is an MY00.

standard suspention. The wheels were on the car when i bought it so i dont know if the offset is difrent. There is a rubber seal around the arch that has nearly worn through so i'll take that off and see if that gives enough clearence

Hi Huxley
I use to have 36-37 front 32-33 rear.
These settings give to my car more oversteer but it's up to you and your driving style.
With that said I'll suggest you more than 33 psi front-rear to save the inside of the tyres.

Cool

Running 36PSI all round on mine, seem to be good tyres, I got a set of 4 215/40/17's for under £303 fully fitted etc.. so there are deals to be had on this tyre! I think they may be trying to clear them before the new run flat F1's are launched in that size (which will be about double the above price I am told!!!).

Compared to all the tyres I have previously had on the scooby (Pzeros, Yokos, Marshalls) the F1's give better wet and dry weather performance and are generally quiet, but prone to squeak a bit on round-abouts at high speed
