I`ve been offered some new P1 brakes ,calipers, disks, pads etc for £500 to go on a 98 Turbo. Are they any better than the standard ones I have on now & is that price any good?
Waiting with baited breath.

if you've got 4 pot calipers then i don't think there is any difference.

If you've got a MY98 you will have 2 pots on the fronts as standard.
The 4 pots from MY99 onwards including the P1 is a vast improvement in my opinion, but £500 sounds a bit steep to me, are they from a dealer??
You can pick up a set on here starting from around £250 for used upto £450 new, it just depends.

Cheers,

Rob.

Yes they are from a dealer off a P1 that is getting a brake upgrade, so they are as new.

Lee, I believe P1 standard brakes are just that - standard brakes. You can pick them up for £3-400 in the For Sale section.

Check your wheels before taking the plunge. You need 16in, with enough clearance between the outer face of the caliper and inside face of the wheel. 99/00 are okay. Not sure about '98.

I could be tempted to sell my P1 4-pots, which i used to upgrade my WRX, they would come with goodridge braided hoses (front and rear) for £400 (brakes have done about 1500 miles).

They are a worthwile upgrade to a MY98, but check those wheels.

MY98 wheels wont fit over 4-pots, i'm quite sure.

Its the shape of the spokes that changed, rather than the size of the wheel.

I also have some STI 3 wheels(gold), which do fit over 4-pots, although they are not mint condition.

Phil.
P.S I haven't recieved any mail, but did change address a short time ago.

Cool

The MY98 wheels on my UK car certainly fit over 4 pots. I thought it was the pre 98 wheels that were the problem.
