Quick query re: Black Diamond Discs.....

Tony,
If you're thinking of replacing the disks I can recommend the perlitic grey iron disks together with Ferodo DS4003 pads as sold by TSL motorsport near Nottingham. You can get their contact details from the banner ads.
I had my Alcon GrpN disks and Mintex 1155's replaced by these at Christmas and they are fantastic. MUCH MUCH better braking, loads of feel with a consistent progressive action. A lot less brake dust than with my previous setup.
Chris.

I've got x-drilled and grooved Black Diamond discs all round.
Very nice they look too, and seem to go will with the Mintx pads in preventing fade.
The surface is indeed shiny as per normal discs, except for the grooves and holes

AlanW,
The price fitted was approx £480 but this included a high labour charge as the calipers wouldn't come off. Without these problems the charge should be just over £400.
I haven;t yet taken them for a proper drive but braking on motorway slip road shows them to be MUCH better in terms of power and especially feel and response. The brakes now just stop without that feeling of maybe/ maybe not. They are definitley a BIG improvement over the previous setup of Alcon discs and Mintex 1155's with the added bonus of less brake dust.

Tony, I'm well but rather busy at the moment so did not get chance to go to Donington - did you. If you're going to Oulton drop me a line and I'll meet you (although I don't know when it is yet).
