Furking lease companies

Scoob needs new tyres - MY99 16's.

Lease co has preferred choice of Michelin just now and I can't sway their opinion.

Want SO2's (even put up what it came with - the Re71's) but they are'nt playing ball.

Anyone got any experience of the michelins, good or bad????

Cheers

Aren't they supposed to put on the manufacturers reccomended parts - they wouldn't put on uprated brake pads i bet as they are not manufacturer approved.

Don't know though - just a thought if you want to argue with them.

Good luck,

Richard

Michelin.....Hard compound &
last for ever.......deadly in the wet tho..
or so my local tyre chappie once told me
Personally I've never had experience of these particular tyres but this is what I've been told about michelin in general
Had some sort of michelins on my old 1.8 legacy once apon a time....they were the original tyres on it when I bought her...they seemed ok to me but to be honest they were never pushed that hard

i had Mich's on when i had the 15's (now hav 16's)
205/55/15 at ATS were £132!!!!!!!!!!
got the same tyre fitted by KwikFit for £87!
after a bit of ringin' round all over the country to get a best price.. then i put it to KF that i could get them 4 £81 +£6 del. from Elite... so they matched the £87 and fitted free!!!!!!!!! lol

Cool

Mxv 3a......

Used on the pug Mi16 X4 bleading lovely tyre sticks to road like s**t to a navajo blanket.....(softer compound rubber)
also even good in bad weather conditions (like snow !) but remember the pug only had 170Bhp so in bad weather be gentle ....till u r used to them.

This was true of the Michelin "X" when they invented the first steel belted radial in about 1965 - but we've moved on a bit since then.

Not true. Tyres are consumables. Not OEM parts in the same way as a starter motor or whatever.

Michelin make some good tyres - i've used them on hot Peugeot's also - and the MXV3a isn't a bad one.

Cheers for the responses guys.

MAy have solved the problem. Finally managed to speak to the right person at the "tyre" desk who has agreed "Hmm....its a performance car - you should replace like with like" after telling me "well, you know sir, there is a 70 mph maximum speed limit in this country and I'm sure all tyres will perform equally well at that speed"

Nearly fell off my chair laughing at that one

Bottom line is I can have the OE Bridgestones or the Michelins. Hmm decisions, decisions........
