Hello Scoobers!

Need your guy's advice pretty bad here... I'm in a majot hurry!

I need to buy tires today....
I am have a little delemha....

My wheels... 17x7 52+ (P1).... My suspension.. Tein HA coilovers....

Now, I need to get some tires ASAP...

Here are my options...

Potenza SO2 PP - 225/45/17 (Not sure if it will rub) - $192 each..

Potenza SO2 PP - 215/45/17 (Will not rub, but costs way less) $170 each

Yokohama AVS Sport- 225/45/17 (May rub) $157...

Dunlop SP9000- 215/45/17 (Will not rub) $109 a tire...

I want max grip... But the SO2's are bank! So do you think the AVS's are a comprimise between the two?? Also, do you guys think I will rub with the 225's??

BRUCELEE

I thought you needed a 40 section for a 215 so you might need a 35 for a 225 to keep the rolling radius.

Cool

The GoodYear Eagle F1 is a v good tyre, imho they're lovely on my scoob. Not that expensive either. Dry grip is on par with the best, and wet grip is absolutely awesome.
They're available in 215/40x17.

Popular tyre sizes for that size of wheel are:

205/45 R17 - Subaru recommendation - Limited choice of tyres
215/40 R17 - Similar rolling circumference - Bigger range of tyres

I'd always recommend the Bridgestone SO2 PP's, as I hated the SP9000 on the last car.

The Dunlops were incredibly hard, reasonable in the dry, poor in the wet, but lasted me for about 24,000 miles. Using the SO2 PP's have an incredible change. Even the first 50 miles in the wet, with the SO2 PP's inspired more confidence than the SP9000 after they were scrubbed in!!!

Just my thoughts
