Thanks for the reply, they are 17's but a specific wheel for that car - they fit over MY99 4 pots.

Hiya,
what size are the wheels on there now?? are they 215 40 17's?? if they are then you should have no problems but if they are 16's then no chance, got to be 17's and even then some problems. (are they prodrive alloys??)
Having to fit pd7's to my car so i can upgrade to ap 6pots any excuse eh!!

Please help - Any input appreciated. Does anyone have Prodrive/Alcon conversion on RB5 wheels?

The Prodrive/Alcon conversion will fit behind RB5 wheels without problems. There are owners on this board that have such a conversion.

OTOH, if you want the AP 6 pots, have you tried contacting the various suppliers of these kits to see if they can assist. Scoobymania

Thanks for the response - I have asked the suppliers of teh kits and no one has fitted AP6 pots to an RB5.

Hopefully if the Prodrive kit fits the AP's will.

Question

I'm thinking of a brake upgrade on my RB5 in the new year - what happens about the spare? From memory, its smaller (certainly not a 17) than the standard wheels.

Is it just a case of getting a can of the 'reinflate' stuff and ensuring AA membership is up to date?

Then again, for a front puncture I guess I should be able to put a rear wheel onto the front and put the spare on the rear??

Kryten,

I was about to suggest moving wheels around, but you could get hold of a damaged 17" and through that in the boot.

I'm getting hold of another wheel, BEFORE I get the brakes done. I HATE spacesavers!!!

Cheers

The word on the street is that AP6pots do fit under RB5 wheels - I should know soon!
I have always run a full size spare, space savers suck!

I take it a 17 spare fits in the boot then?

There was me thinking it was the perfect excuse to use the space for another subwoofer....

I FITTED AP 4pots TO MY RB5 BECAUSE THE 6pots WOULD HAVE BEEN TOUCH&GO. I WAS TOLD 6pots MIGHT JUST FIT BUT THE WHEEL MAY HAVE TO BE SPACED AND I DID'NT FANCY CHANGING ANY GEOMETRY

17 inch spare does fit in the boot I have a piece of foam cut out round the wheel to pad the rest of the boot floor level up.

I'll be at donno on 30th if want to have a look.

I am concerned that the 6 pot calipers wont clear the RB5 wheel. No one seems to have tried the conversion.
