Got 4 new tyres today off a mate who works for a member of the Continental group. Contisport Contacts to fit my standard 16" wheels, £70 a corner. Got another mate who's a mobile tyre fitter who will fit em with new valves & balance em for £25.
I make that £305.00 for new tyres balanced & fitted.

If you drive sensibly in the wet I would have thought you should be OK. I have the Michelin Pilots on my Scoob. Not through choice! Came fitted with them. I have only encountered problems in the wet when going over the top with throttle usage.

But remember, they're not SO2's.

Flame suit on for defending your choice. Not everyone has pots of cash to throw around!

As Sith said I don't have pots of money to throw at the scoob and my wife had these tyres on her motor and they gripped like stink. I suppose I'll just have to wait & see won't I.

YES for general use, specially in the wet (and Toyo & P-Zero as good alternative);

NO for track or "Ring" use: too soft;
last ring-weekend all the guys I spoke with and who did use S02-pp had the same experience, no grip enough, too instable (of course on DRY tarmac).

Check the Autocar tyre test. Contisport contacts are the BEST DRY HANDLING TYRE out there.

I did over 2 track days and 10k miles in them, I find them awesome tyres.

Looks like me be getting another set of rims with some conti's on and quick release nuts so I can swop em over out side me house depending on whether the weather be wet or whether the weather be dry.

Seriously, the wet scares the **** out of me so the best tyres in the wet will do me fine.

Just as a footnote.....

Tyres are now well scrubbed in and do grip like stink in both the wet & dry.

The guy who fitted them has just started in business as a mobile tyre fitter and he did an excellent job. He used hidden balance weights and there isn't a hint of shudder all the way upto the legal limit (AHEM).

Have driven hard on these tyres before on on other motors...so have many mates with Porche ,and other decent motors....usual response is that it's a decent tyre...certainly that was my impression...no major surprises....sidewalls not as stiff as some but then it's sometimes down to what you want to fell through the steering on the limit...So go on Dave ....enjoy!
